Medical Massage is an outcome based, result driven hands on treatment with a specific problem being treated from a physician’s diagnosis or self-referral. Thorough assessment/ evaluation is performed by the medical massage therapist to ensure the appropiateness of the treatment with attention and focus to detail on things such as diet, health history, health goals, etc.
Relaxation Massage is a traditional massage therapy practice devised to offer full body relaxation and stress relief. Therapist perform a consultation to ensure that no pressure restrictions are present. Relaxation massage therapy is typically performed on an as needed basis.

Medical Massage Therapy Session Protocol
Pre Consultation
The therapist assesses range of motion, gait, posture, and any concerns that you may have before beginning treatment reaching out to your other health care providers if necessary. In a relaxation based massage pre-consults are not necessary.
The Pre Consultation may last up to a half hour and is done only before the first treatment.
Review of Findings
Therapist reviews data with you obtained during the exam and recommends a treatment plan. Care is administered therafter. Average treatment plans also include Chiropractic care.

Treatment Plans
The therapists then assesses which treatment plan, if any, is best suited for your particular condition with your goals, frequency, and success in mind. The therapist consults with other healthcare practitioners including your doctor; physical therapist, personal trainer, dietician, acupuncturist, and more to evaluate what your treatment needs may be after the first session. Treatment plans are labeled acute, chronic, or preventative.
Acute – Excessive Pain or Discomfort requiring weekly treatment
Chronic –Easing out of Acute Care or general stiffness with no pain or limited mobility
Preventative –A monthly treatment once you have cycled through Acute or Chronic Care.
